You may check the machine by running program. At first load the part program and then load the work piece into the lathe. After that load the essential tools needed for the particular program and select the turret slot in which they should be placed. Start the coolant pump and shift the nozzle. Do again this step for every tool. Now set the tool offsets and gradually carry each tool towards tool setter. Stop when you get a beep sound. Record the tools location in the tool offset monitor under the proper tool number and do again this process to set the x and z offset for all tools. Then position the work offset and turn the turret to the particular cutting tool for which you have situated the tool offset. Now set up the spindle and manually run the cutter. Record the tool’s location under the work offset of z axis. Run the part program and observe the machine to ensure the program performs as proposed.
